There's a difference between largely keeping project spaces about technical stuff and using that as an excuse to shut down grievances. Human rights are non-negotiable, not just in my eyes, but periodt. Human rights atrocities like what the right-wing is doing now must not be given a pass, no matter if that's in tech or not.
Being quiet and reserved about it isn't the way. Showing them their bullshit isn't welcome anywhere is required. I don't talk to a large portion of my family because of this.
