Most paywalled material is available for free via your public library. Mine uses PressReader to view NYT. Now you know why Republicans and Tories defund public libraries. Systems of exploitation require information asymmetry. ie where the rich know and no one else does. Information is deliberately withheld to strengthen the 1%. The last time the rich had accumulated this much wealth, it took two world wars to wrest control from Gilded Age robber barons & their allies in a fading aristocracy.
The globe couldn't withstand a nuclear version of that past solution.
Reforms are still possible if people vote for the right candidates. Vet thoroughly before supporting anyone.
