@developerjustin @EU_Commission @Barredo Honestly the #EU over-regulates everything. They had no business mandating the #USBC port on smartphones, for example, and I wish that #Apple had stood up to them on that front.

If #Nintendo did this voluntarily, good on them. If they did this under duress, it's yet another in a long list of shameful abuses of power by the #EU.

@realcaseyrollins @developerjustin @EU_Commission @Barredo "it's good when companies behave, but bad when they have to behave"

@realcaseyrollins @developerjustin @EU_Commission @Barredo Why should there not be any pressure on them? What makes the freedom of a profit maximizing legal construct to do what it wants important? If the government protects their right to profit in the market (through IP and copyright protection), then I don't see why it doesn't create limits on behavior either.

When did I say there shouldn't be?

I'm not sure what this even means. If you're saying, "why should freedom to make a profit overrule doing what's important", again, it shouldn't. Let me know if I misunderstood what you said here though.

Me either.

I'm confused, where do we disagree, exactly?

@nix @developerjustin @EU_Commission @Barredo Wait wait why are you supporting government regulations? You're literally an anarchist...

@realcaseyrollins @developerjustin @EU_Commission @Barredo I'm not supporting either. Both are legal constructs, so I don't see what's objectionable about one trying to make the other behave as long as they both exist.

I don’t think most “anarchists” know (or would like) what would happen if anarchy were actually a thing. I like the usb c thing though, it’s so annoying to have to deal with different cables.

@realcaseyrollins I just don’t get how forcing Nintendo to fix defective products is an abuse of power ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
