@skobkin Why is this poll restricted to only two genders?

The reason is literally in the post.

@skobkin I see nothing in the post that would restrict non-binary or agender people from being able to answer the question. I suspect many would have an opinion on the topic.

1. Mastodon only supports 4 voting options. Why? Ask the developer.
2. I'm not too good (and not very interested) in gender specter agenda to be able to add every possible option and not offend anyone at the same time.
3. You can try to create your own poll here with the options you see viable and we will see if anyone votes.

@skobkin Then why mention gender at all if you only can do two options? Leave it a yes/no question instead. There’s no need to exclude people if you just want to create a general poll.

Because I think that people of different genders may have a tendencies for specific opinions due to social and cultural reasons. That's one of things I want to check at least in my bubble.
I don't use this data for science, so there is no need for me to try to workaround platform restrictions.

Then you could have a link to a better polling site and be inclusive, instead of letting a restriction of this site be an excuse to exclude people.

Or you could just say that you don’t care about the opinions of people who don’t fit into the boxes of an imaginary gender binary, and people will know where you stand.

And if you don’t want people outside of your friend group to see and comment on the poll, then don’t post it on public.
