Gregory's ServerHello people of the Fediverse! Some of you may have heard that a new Mastodon client, Ivory, is in development for iOS (and Mac!). This is true! Tapbots is going all in on Mastodon and we hope this place continues to grow and thrive. Tweetbot will continue to be developed alongside Ivory as a lot of code is shared. A new Mac version of Tweetbot and Ivory are also currently in development and we are working hard on getting those towards a public beta state.

I'm a Tweetbot subscriber already, and will gladly pay for a comparable Fediverse app. I have very low vision, and would be happy to test accessibility for you. @ivory I'm so excited about this. Been a Tweetbot user forever. Its the biggest thing I miss over here on Mastodon.  @andrewbriscoe @ivory Same. I can test on iPhone, iPad, and Mac M1. I’m running dev betas on all three.  @ivory very excited to hear this. Will there be a public beta signup? I’ve been using Tweetbot for years so I’d love to use a client for Mastodon made by your team. @ivory Can't wait! I think the bigger issue with the name is the racial connotation ( as in ebony and ivory). I prefer it to anything involving "toot" though! @ivory very excited. Would love to be able to transfer my remaining subscription of Tweetbot to Ivory. @ivory I really hope there are some blind testers, Tapbots have had questionable accessibility in the past.  @ivory Tweetbot == Twitter for me. The API already exists in Mastodon, but for some reason, very few clients use it. It would be a terrific addition to what seems to be an already terrific app! So very thrilled to hear that! @ivory very excited for this, have been using tweetbot for years. I am also a bit concerned about the name Ivory, but understand that naming is not so easy. Look forward to what comes either way. @ivory Yay! Tweetbot helped me enter into the world of Twitter many years ago, and now hopefully Ivory can help me settle into Mastodon! @ivory I can't wait. Twitter has been useless without you since they algorithmitised their feed.  @ivory The only part of switching away from Twitter that actually made me sad was canceling my Tweetbot subscription - because it brought so much value, and made Twitter usable when the official apps became awful. @ivory I would really like to give this a shot when ready. I am low vision and typically rely on VoiceOver, VoiceControl, and Braille. Tweetbot has been a great experience for years and have been happy to use it!
I would really appreciate having a Mastodon client that works well with accessibility tools - such as not displaying "scrollable area" as is the case with the Electron wrapped app. Hope I can give some useful feedback.
