twitter: your mastodon server admin reads every DM you send. they actually read them and assign a score mastodon admins who roll their own: sorry everyone images aren't going to work for the next sixty-ninety years. what's a DM 99% of mastodon admins who are just normies who pay for shared hosting: we can't read dms. we can't even choose when to update. we can't even turn the lights off in this room lead mastodon dev: actually they're "mentioned people only posts," hope this helps. Cheers!

#introduction my name is Alex, I’m in my early 30s and live in New England, I’m a computer toucher but not a programmer, I’m a 70s-80s DJ, a genuine bisexual communist and a dad of one mopheaded toddler Follow reqs (except from dads.cool users) will be declined unless I know you already or you have a good ref from somebody here I’ve known for a long time. if you like my posts you can boost them but I use private posting regularly for family and personal stuff. :joecheers:

I post public on a locked account because it is marginally healthier to consume my posts second-hand

"For some marginal communities the freedom of association which Mastodon is based on is the difference between having a space that’s safe for them to express themselves and not having a space at all."
"Freedom of association is the foundational human right and Mastodon is the only service I know of which prioritises it over everything else." —Ian Betteridge (yes that one), https://ianbetteridge.com/2023/06/21/meta-and-mastodon-whats-really-on-peoples-minds/
As someone who just passively basks in the hard work done by admins, this is 🤯
