🎉 #Mastodon 4.0 is out now! This server software update includes a ton of improvements, like following hashtags, translating posts, editing, an improved filtering system, customizable user roles for administration, but also some important security fixes.

Even on Tusky, which I use now, when I click the 'load more' - button, it jumps to the latest toots, instead of just adding the toots above where I was reading.

I hope I could explain my problem well and that someone can help me.

for the app, the official one on iOS successfully returns to previous position on the timeline for me.

i’m currently using (and preferring) Mammoth by @JPEGuin though i’m not sure it has that functionality yet

And now I hope I can read my timeline without it jumping forward and me scrolling backward.

@TheraP Release notes like this are mainly for server administrators, e.g. the person or people who run masto.ai in your case. They can affect the web interface---you may have more options, buttons may change, etc.---but you don't have to do anything to use the new stuff. Think of it kind of like GMail: Google updates it all the time, but you can pretty much just keep using it as you always have.

For now, you have nothing to do as a user :) Only, admins of the instances are concerned and will try to upgrade Mastodon to the latest version.
