@Mastodon This looks interesting--though I won't do it as the instructions for how to do it--plus the various caveats--make it completely intimidating and an invitation to disaster. Maybe someday Mastodon will make it easy for non-Nerds...but that day is not yet at hand.

@Mastodon just did a completely new install using the official install guide. Not sure if it’s just me but I had to change the Ruby version to 3.0.4 in this step RUBY_CONFIGURE_OPTS=--with-jemalloc rbenv install 3.0.3 (change to 3.0.4)
rbenv global 3.0.3 (change to 3.0.4). #install

1. I've forgotten my password and when I asked for a new one and a resend, no email came to me.
2. I'm getting notices about a release 4; I think I'm only on release 1 point something. Do the new releases self load or doI have to upload manually and if so how?
3. How do I change the instance I first joined? It's not what I thought it was.

Where can I find some help? Been trying so hard to use this site since it seems like its where a majority of the people I follow on Twitter are flocking, but for the life of me I can’t figure this place out
Tried uploading pics & it fails every single time. On iPad, get a 502 server error, on iPhone, the PUBLISH button is greyed out
Tried switching to @mastodon.social server but it says it says access denied
Why is this all so complicated?

@Mastodon You have a real opportunity here to make Mastodon the #1 alternative for those looking to join a place that actually respects their privacy and doesn't bombard them with dank memes and intrusive ads. 
But the app itself hasn't been updated since July. You still can't edit your posts. There's no option to see blocked users and domains, either. Unlike the desktop version, it's missing a lot of features. 
Please work on improving the app. I see a lot of potential.

👋 Hey there, @Mastodon! Just a nifty suggestion, it'd be great if we get the option to see fewer Reblogs from the people we follow. That would remove a considerable chunk of ‘unwanted’ content popping up in our feeds. ✌️
