I have ordered a more powerful machine for our database server from Hetzner last evening, but they still haven't provisioned it. It seems we're doomed to experience these processing delays until I can get my hands on more hardware. Sorry!

I've recently been hitting the limit on my Scaleway VPS, and , because its a legacy package, I can't expand it, and they want far too much for a new server.
Hetzner is charging similar prices to what i pay now, but with more performance!
Might look at switching over!

On Mastodon, I send a postcard, I trust the latter to deliver it one of these four to those who will read it (or not!).
In short, this delay (much more a lengthening of time) is not unpleasant.

As on my island: my contractor will come by at the end of the week but has not indicated which one! But he will come!
The proof? I have been his customer for six years and he has become a friend...

Just curious, as I saw you mention this the other day, but what is the average delay time currently when trying to upload an image?

I've been waiting around 15 minutes at the moment for a 236kb image to be uploaded and it's still processing. Hopefully it's getting close to being processed.

@Gargron Wouldn't it be an idea to close Mastodon.social for a little while for new users, then weed out the accounts that are demanding changes but are not patreons, and those who break server rules. Then, what about partnering with a company or The European Commission? For a long term solution? Suppose this influx continues, and all the companies and trolls from Twitter also sign up to here. You might be too tired to think of a solution now, but trust me, do it before you crash.
