 @dansup @pixelfed simplify SELFHOSTING because the fediverse is unsustainable if many people join, the servers will not hold up and the costs will be very high. A plug-in or API for @nextcloud would be greatly appreciated. @Adam @dansup @pixelfed there are many possibilities, @nextcloud is one example, @yunohost another as well as #hestiaCP. In my opinion, creating an accuont and selfhosting it should be as easy as creating an email or facebook account (with a tutorial), sure the pc will have to stay on 24 hours a day as if it were a torrent... but it is the only way if the fediverse can be as popular as meta or tiktok and do real competition.   @dansup Does this include someone like myself who does customer support, social media and similar other things(building a Discord server from 0 to 78,000+ members)? I think the Fediverse definitely needs to see Pixelfed and Loops both be a lot more active on social media, and I'm sure you can't do that by yourself.   @dansup yes, I’m in the surgical procedure of cutting Meta, Instagram and Facebook from my ego. But I have a keen interest in helping to build a new world order on Social Media.  |
