@SocialJusticeHeals @h look at how blue maga responded to Harris replacing Biden. The control would still be there, because desperation is its source.  I think thatโs very true. Trump has been so idolized that the coalition built around him, especially the Christian nationalists would struggle to find a center. A lot of pastors would have to do quick footwork to anoint a successor. And itโs hard to say whether that successor could pull off the same hat trick. Because Trumpโs very artificial businessman image is part of the entire package. And the power struggles. Oh boy.  Except the next in line was formerly his biggest critic. I suspect, in keeping with the opportunism of the party, Vance courted Trump for the nomination as VP, knowing no one else would want it after Trump was prepared to sacrifice Pence, knowing he couldn't swing getting a presidential nomination himself, and knowing there was a good chance Trump would not make it to the end of his second term. @starraven @h yeah but he didn't criticize Trump for being too fascist, but instead for being too obvious/an idiot about it.  @starraven @vex @h That's not the dynamic I see. This is just fantasizing a "good" authoritarian. For one Biden is not as powerful as you think, and denying bombs to Israel comes with its own risk of genocide on the other side of the conflict. Aside from that, my comment was not in any shape or form related to and likely future. It is completely irrelevant what Biden would or wouldn't do. It was a piece of fiction. Absurd take to conclude that a power imbalance so extreme one side is able to literally starve the other has the same threat level for conducting genocide.
