@joshix @timkrief @fdroidorg great, that means I can stay with K-9. Thanks for the clarification. @timkrief Apparently it was just a bug in the index, where the app store displayed a wrong name. Hitting the update button would have gotten you k9 and not Thunderbird. @timkrief @fdroidorg Same here. Will they coexist in the long term? If so, in how far do they differ? @achadwick @timkrief @fdroidorg So it's exactly the same app with no changes except for the branding? If so, then I'll just switch over from #K9Mail to #Thunderbird rather sooner than later to be done with it. @laubblaeser @timkrief @fdroidorg Seeing how Mozilla's priorities have changed over the past couple of years, I live in vain hope that a Fennec-like situation arises. An independent defanged build some time between when they drop the K-9 branding and when they start shovelling crapware that nobody wants into the product. Perhaps it could be called FIDO https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K9_(Doctor_Who)#Conceptual_history (Shame that maintaining such a build is bloody hard work..) |
@timkrief @fdroidorg k-9 now shares a codebase with thunderbird, the built apk has just a different branding
