@dansup Will it allow you to auto post that you're live on services like Mastodon? It would be a great way to get Pixelfed more attention. I'm really looking forward to this. @Mrfunkedude Yeah! Also we'll support both public and private/follower-only broadcasts, so anyone will be able to view the public streams with a easy to remember url (ex: pixelfed.test/dansup/live ) @dansup will there be access to rtmp settings or will this strictly be a stand alone app? @Mrfunkedude Which settings do you have in mind? It is a stand alone app, do you mean broadcast from OBS or another non-app source? @dansup yes that. Also, will there be a chat or comment viewable to the broadcaster? Sorry if I'm getting ahead. Like I said, I'm just excited for this. @Mrfunkedude Nope to OBS support, I explained it here https://mastodon.social/@dansup/108525840308066089 Yes, live comments are on the roadmap! As the broadcaster you'll be able to post/pin and moderate comments. As Dansup notes, Owncast does desktop livestreaming really well, worth checking out if you want a Twitch style broadcast. (I think it supports OBS too). You can follow Owncast accounts from Mastodon etc so they let you know in the timeline when they go live. |
