@bedirthan if you want a list, @augustocc maintains one here: https://mastodon.br-linux.org/instancias/
[DATA EXPUNGED]
@ezlin @Gargron Until they comply with court orders. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c5y3rnl5qv3o Huh. Thanks for the info. "until it complies with all court orders and pays existing fines" So basically never. I can't rightly commented on the rest of that situation. o7 Yeah. Stubborn, arrogant, petulant. So it's difficult to say what he'll do. :blobcatgooglyshrug: Musk wasn't so stubborn when it came to keeping Twitter available in Turkey Yes, they ordered to block access to the service nationwide and impose huge fines for citizens trying to circumvent the censorship. @Gargron@mastodon.social @ezlin@gamepad.club Brasil banned X after they refused to compy with the supreme court's rulings and fines @ezlin Brazil banned X from being used in the country, at least temporarily. @anna summarized it in English. In short, there's this judicial process going on (the details are not public), apparently X was not abiding to judicial orders, and then it closed its Brazilian branch to try and evade the consequences. The judicial process is about X providing safe haven to Brazilians who are suspected to be attempting / have attempted against Brazilian democracy. @gavinisdie @Gargron this is a rise of #censorship . First you blocks X and fines people for using VPN. Next you ban all communication channels of opposition (already going, there is the reason of blocking X in Brasil) and start to persecute their leaders. We already saw these in Russia, now the time for Brasil... @Gargron Nice, now can we get at least one pt-br instance on joinmastodon.org? ursal.zone is available but has not heard back from you, apparently: https://ursal.zone/@Ursalzona/113055979622428538 @nemobis hey @renchap, @andypiper and friends: Can we expepiate getting some Brazilian instances on the joinmastodon page? Aug 10, 10 sign-ups from #Brazil. Aug 28, 152 sign-ups from Brazil. Today, 4.2k sign-ups from Brazil. Portuguese (Brazil) has already entered the list of top 8 active languages for the last 30 days. @Gargron Twitter was blocked in Brazil yesterday for not respecting the Supreme Court's order to block far-right accounts for spreading false information and inciting undemocratic acts. I think that the administrators of the instances here at Mastodon should be very attentive to this diaspora. There should be a list of native Brazilian Fediverse instances to make it easiest for our new friends from Brazil to come here and find their communities. I hope that is being highlighted everywhere they are finding homes, 1) that they are welcome indeed, and 2) that we will help them find places they can express their cultural uniquenesses. |
@Gargron what are some of the most popular servers for those?
