@Migueldeicaza Are there people with genocidal intent in Israel? Absolutely. Has Israel's behavior in this war led to a humanitarian catastrophe? 100%. Does this mean that the IDF is waging a genocidal campaign, as defined by the world community (see: Raphael Lemkin)? Not in my opinion. I don't want to debate you because I'm tired of fighting the same empty assertions from people with a limited understanding of the context of this war.

@josh the international court of justice judges think they have a case.

Going to go with their legal opinion over rando guy on mastodon who thinks I have a “limited understanding”.

@Migueldeicaza Feel free to ignore me! And you're misreading the ICJ. They did not say it's a plausible genocide. They said Israel needs to act to prevent one.

@josh @Migueldeicaza Technically, if I remember correctly, the ICJ said that Palestinians have a plausible case to be considered a recognized group, which is a prerequisite for a genocide allegation.

They then said Israel should take necessary steps to prevent a genocide of that plausible group.

Wikipedia is being wildly irresponsible with this article title.

@josh My bad. I will go with the legal opinions of these countries (including my birth country) rather than your opinion.

Or for added oomph, the second tweet:
