Is it Smithereen's walls? Or whatever Alex did in Soapbox? Or old GNU Social groups with AP specificiation published recently?

@Gargron I remember @grishka talking to @dansup about this.

If y'all do it in a _compatible_ way across all engines, I'm all for it.

It, however, requires reaching consensus in what a group _is_ - how it works and how to interact with it from within and without.
