Groups will be rolling out to select :pixelfed: instances next week, and will be available for all pixelfed instances after we conclude federation compatibility testing!

Is it Smithereen's walls? Or whatever Alex did in Soapbox? Or old GNU Social groups with AP specificiation published recently?   Eugen, it should be — we discussed it with Daniel a lot, he says it should be compatible  @pixelfed But why can you post Text only in a pixelfed group?! Shouldnt you post at least some media? Or is this because supporting other groups within the fediverse? :blobcatthink:    @pixelfed looks promising with the public, private and local options. Not to mention the rate limiting / slow join  @pixelfed how will grups federate with Pleroma, Mastodon and others, and will there be a way to disable text posting even in groups, in case someome wants to make a picture only instance?
