@nixCraft As an app dev one of those with boards from different phones would be awesome! Shame they're used for click farming. @nixCraft I first thought they were using the CPUs from recycled phones as a cheap and powerful server to compute stuff.  @MatthiasMailaender @nixCraft @Ryanteck Those boards with tiny adapter cables for multiple vendors to reuse old smartphones for something like cluster servers or development stations would indeed be SO awesome! Unfortunately that would be a lot of development costs with zero support by smartphone vendors for only little profit, so it most likely won't ever happen… *sigh*  Web giants playing a thousand different popularity contests make opportunists deciding to optimism an inevitability. Just the pure scale of the economic part makes this comparatively cheap. If advertisers wouldn't push billions into this industry, the costs for government actors would be much higher.  Imagine smartphones having proper Linux available being normal, so we could actually reuse them as a super cheap but powerful Raspberry Pi replacement. @nixCraft They don't seem to use any sim-cards, so they don't need IMSI or ICCID, I guess.
