Fedora Linux 41 is here! We have DNF 5, new desktops, bootc, new spins, and more. Check it out! Today we're announcing a huge leap in gaming for Apple Silicon - you can now play AAA games on Fedora Asahi Remix! The Fedora Asahi SIG is grateful to work closely with the @AsahiLinux project on making this possible. This work leads the way for us to enable gaming on all Fedora Arm systems down the line! @fedora @AsahiLinux Can you try FlightGear for me? You should have package in distro and it did not work last time I tried.
@fedora @AsahiLinux funny how in order to get games running on mac hardware, you have to install linux on it. @fedora @AsahiLinux That sound alike a huge step ahead. Congratulations! How is the graphic performance compared to the original macOS drivers? Are there any benchmarks? Fedora KDE users, you may want to check your updates. Plasma 6.2 should be waiting for you. :) The Fedora KDE SIG is working on getting everything updated. If you don't have it available yet it should be there by the end of the week. Thanks to the @kde community and our Fedora KDE SIG members specifically! :fedora: ❤️ :kdenew: Learn more about KDE Plasma 6.2: https://kde.org/announcements/plasma/6/6.2.0/ #FedoraKDE #Kinoite #KDE #Fedora #Linux #OpenSource #KDEPlasma

@fedora How do these sorts of updates work with rolling distros? Specifically, do you loose settings/customizations?

@fedora congrats on the release, and excellent work from everyone from Fedora, GNOME, KDE, and beyond! @fedora Burning an .iso right now for a fresh install, been looking forward to new gnome-shell/mutter for a while and with my intel/NVIDIA setup, once the new NVIDIA drivers land, I should be in Linux Gnome Nvidia Heaven! Thanks to all the devs, volunteers, engineers, and everyone in between for making this happen, the work they all do is beyond appreciated, thank you! Now off I go to file a bunch of bug reports (kidding!) 😁 ALL CLEAR for Fedora Rawhide and Fedora 40 Beta builds regarding the xz exploit. 👍 Things had stabilized soon after the initial security advisory, but we're now confirming that you can use Rawhide and Fedora 40 Beta safely as long as you have the latest updates or reinstall (which is not a bad idea to be safe). Fedora 38 and 39 were never affected. @fedora Since the Wine wayland driver was released, I'm daily driving Wayland. It's awesome! @fedora Wayland didn't work on my T510 in Plasma until recently. Great work, #Wayland and #kde_plasma teams! You define a whole category of Linux user on your own. If people can start saying “I use Fedora btw”, it will only be awesome to hear because of you. @fedora @archlinux unrelated but, does the FS in the hashtag stand for free software or something else? My brain first read it as file system :D

@fedora happy birthday! I've been a happy user since Fedora 4, which I installed for my master thesis when I was much younger 😂 We expand into the Fediverse. You can now follow the Fedora Community Blog directly! Doing that will deliver blog posts straight into your timeline by the authors on the blog. Thank you ActivityPub WordPress plugin. :)

@fedora @communityblog.fedoraproject.org Ooh awesome! I think this is the first blog that I'm following through Fediverse/ActivityPub means! :ablobcatattention: Happy birthday to the Linux kernel! Big thank you to Linus Torvalds for starting this journey, but also thanks to the entire Linux community that has helped to make open source operating systems so successful. ❤️ 🥳 🎂

@fedora @AsahiLinux big news! congrats on the partnership Asahi team. hope this ensures a sustainable path for Linux on Apple Silicon. @fedora @AsahiLinux that's cool! I managed to make the arm flavour work, but it will be a lot easier your way. Thanks for sharing this 👍🏻 @fedora @AsahiLinux Will the primary DE switch to GNOME or will there at least be a KDE Plasma spin? You love to see it. The Framework Laptop 16 will have in-house support and installation guides for Fedora! With its AMD CPU and GPU you will be teed up for success on Linux. @fedora Very nice! Thank you for this awesome linux distribution ;)
@fedora I'm so curious to try it! Fedora is never banal and predictable in releasing new versions; there are always great new features, the result of quality work. It's a great example in the open source world.
