@L29Ah @rf @ru обидно.

Вообще, заход с того, что только боты критиковали это действие, говорит об отсутствии желания реагировать на критику по существу. Впрочем, если это и правда юридически обосновано, то увы и ах. Лучше бы этого всего и вовсе не было...

In social media civilization, NOBODY chooses to migrate to the Fediverse. It's much safer to migrate to the Bluesky where people complain about twitter and fedi all day instead of complaining about free software and drama all day

ИА-Панорама, Аккет, выпуск Вестей от "Уральских пельменей"...

Может быть, вы даже Хобости 2x2 вспомните?

So these four things happened:

1. #Bitwarden, who always advertised being open source, introduced a non-free dependency into their client.

2. People start speculating whether this means that Bitwarden will become proprietary. github.com/bitwarden/clients/i

3. After three days of speculation, founder and CTO Kyle Spearrin posts a comment saying that this is just a measure to isolate a part of the code from the GPL.

4. He then closes & locks the issue.

Looks totally not suspicious, yeah. 😬

@scy I saw this coming over a year ago, and started switching to KeePassDX. I think I smelled the capitalist rot starting to take hold.

64 mastodonz logistics co-op

@scy if you can prove that the two halves of the code are in fact one program, the gpl would apply

is it possible for someone else to build an open source front end?

@scy I'm happy that I use KeePassXC with Nextcloud sync

Want something like CrystalDiskInfo for Linux?
Take a look at this:

QDiskInfo

QDiskInfo is a frontend for smartctl (part of the smartmontools package). It provides a user experience similar to CrystalDiskInfo. It shows the SMART (Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology) data of modern hard disk drives.

dont think ill take bluesky seriously until alternative servers can exist on the same level as bsky.social completely independently from the bluesky company

right now, if bluesky disappeared, the whole network dies with it, and there are serious restrictions on what pdses can do which bsky.social doesnt have to deal with :/

basically im just asking for the bluesky network to have neutrality in the same way the internet and the fediverse do

because right now its just as bad as being centralised, to me. if bluesky ultimately has total control of the network and has the final say then i dont see the point really

i think when it comes to social networking and digital platforms housing peoples speech and personal expression there shouldn't be an all powerful governing body

im not just writing off the thing i dont like for the sake of it. competition in software is healthy and i want bluesky to be a reasonable alternative to fedi. its just that, i dont think it is, at least until bluesky relaxes their restrictions and releases more of their code to be self-hosted
