What does this signify? My #lemmy group on collecting #news articles on the #fediverse has already attracted 58 subscribers in 24 hours. That is a lot more than I had expected. So far it has collected 5 recent pieces in Wired, PopSci, The New Stack, AdAge, and tech.co. Let's say you have a fan mounted above some Raspberry Pis that sometimes overheat. So it doesn't get used very often. Surprising insight of the day: you can point it at yourself if it is hot in the home office in the summer!! Equality for people and Pi's! How do I find out who the supposedly 26 subscribers are of my newly created #lemmy group for press coverage of the Fediverse? Is there a button somewhere that I can't see? Doing a #CCPA "right to access" data request at data broker Equifax. They respond by sending me a "text file with very long lines" that has a .png (image!) file extension. This means most people won't be able to open it; Firefox surely says the file is corrupted. Happens to everybody, right, when programming text downloads that they accidentally give them .png extensions, and QA doesn't catch it???!? I’m starting a Lemmy group to collect mainstream press coverage of the Fediverse, ActivityPub and the like. When you see an article on a news site or such, consider submitting it there? The idea is to “crowdsource” a repository of what the world says about us in mainstream outlets that have a significant audience.

The Wired article on the #fediverse that has some quotes from me apparently was republished on Ars Technica. @J12t To me this is proof positive of the utter BS that is "democracy" in this country. Pray tell, why does this man have to file a Federal lawsuit? Why aren't the Feds doing that? And why did the SPLC turn him down and refuse to help? If there were any justice in this country, the ppl denying him office, the lawyers who fleeced him, and every person in a position to do something about this who looked the other way would be in the pokey right now. The @nextcloud client is really, really bad about projecting how long an upload for a large directory hierarchy will take. An hour ago it said: 3 days. Then 5 mins ago it said: 2 minutes. Now it says: 1 day. Maybe average more than the last 10 seconds?  FireFish, huh. Sure better than Calckey ! At least I can pronounce it 🙂 Congratulations @kainoa and crew.  So apparently there is a non-trivial number of Russian tourists vacationing in Crimea. I am at a loss.
