What do you think is the best thing to happen to #Linux in the last few years?

@gamingonlinux For the average consumer? The Steam Deck. While a lot of people may never see desktop mode, I use it extensively at least 3-4 days a week as a daily laptop.

It's not the strongest laptop I could bring, but it's strong enough for every day use. I'm learning to love what Arch Linux and KDE can offer!

So many gaming sites writing about how โ€œBungieโ€ released Marathon on Steam or itโ€™s โ€œnow freeโ€.

Frustrating to see people not doing basic checks. It was the Aleph One team, not Bungie, and itโ€™s been free for years. Itโ€™s just now on Steam.

@gamingonlinux yup and not just the first Marathon, the entire franchise has been free for more than a decade (I remember playing Durandal and Infinity downloaded from the Aleph One website in my Pentium 3).

These are probably the same people lobbying Netflix to cancel Good Omens.

@gamingonlinux A group I was a part of, when I was a weather enthusiast, reported on a en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mediterr and we were called "the Italians" on Wikipedia...

I'm going to play some Linux games over at cast.samsai.eu/ in about 15 minutes. Tonight's menu: "Death of a Wish" and "Crop and Claw". Then we'll continue with some more Shadow of the Tomb Raider. See you in the chat!

Rasmus Lindegaard

@gamingonlinux theres an open source build? This used to be one of my favourite strategy games... I guess it kind of still is. I remember playing it back in the 90ies (after we had played homm2) it was friggin fantastic!

@gamingonlinux Oh I sure hope the sound in my Airpods Pro stops degrading over time now.

I'm using nearly all of it ๐Ÿ’€

No, I will not uninstall all those games I haven't played for over a year.

A few years ago I realized I had almost 300 games on Steam that I never started or started and quit really quickly. I then installed all of them and said I wouldn't get a new game until I played and beat enough games to get under 100. I'm down to 120 - 130 unbeaten games.

I did break this rule a couple of times, and quite a few games were part of bundles, so I didn't count those as games I bought. But I've made a lot of progress.

@gamingonlinux Me playing Crusader Kings III:

I've done... Questionable things...

But also marvelous things! Revel in your time!

One time I set out, deliberately, to make an anachronistic version of Elizabeth Bathory (she lived about 150 years after the game's end date).
