@gamingonlinux this looks awesome! Caesar 3 but with better graphics. Thanks for the tip!

Daniel

@gamingonlinux Why haven't I've heard of this game before? Looks awesome! It's like Pharaoh but runs on Linux.

I haven't played any of these games so far, but I've been considering buying Pharaoh for a long time, but... with a few exceptions I wouldn't really buy a game that doesn't run on Linux natively. Now that there's this game, it's an instant buy. (Would be instant buy if there was a sale. So instant wishlist for now.)

@gamingonlinux From what I've seen, that's a problem across the board. Not just steam deck. It's apparently a mess on powerful PCs. Not surprising from EA.

Wild Hearts is absolutely terrible on Steam Deck ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

@gamingonlinux It seems to be terrible on desktop too

@gamingonlinux I decided to buy the Wild West Dynasty Early Access instead andโ€ฆ.. it caused my Steam Deck to overheat to the degree that it crashed my whole system. Twice. Which was quite an achievement seeing as it looked and played like a Unity asset dump.

@gamingonlinux that is somewhat of a bummer, I thought its gameplay loop would be ideal for the form factor.

@gamingonlinux YES! For me this was the most annoying issue with Steam Deck.

@gamingonlinux .. interesting. I wonder if @lutris could reverse-engineer the shader-cache download process to apply steamโ€™s cache if you own the game outside of steam.

I'll have a Steam Deck video up on Returnal tonight but in short: unplayable on Steam Deck right now, even with a shader cache from me doing quite a few runs. Heavily depends on the map generation, some runs can see 30FPS, some 20-25FPS from the start.

@gamingonlinux Returnal is the ONE game I would have bought a PS5 for. So looking forward to it on PC ๐Ÿฅณ

@gamingonlinux The hell? That response of theirs makes no sense.

@gamingonlinux no one is forcing them to pay anything or use the affiliates.

One day I hope Valve upgrade the Steam Curator system. It could be so much more useful. Even simple things like giving developers a message on *why* I rejected a copy of something, and letting them send again when solved for example - that would be nice.

mactenchi

@gamingonlinux What are some reasons you would reject a code?

@gamingonlinux Used your link to pick up Stellaris - tried it on the Steam Deck using Heroic launcher but no joy - I'm not having much luck finding info on this - hoping you might be able to point me in the right direction. Tried the linux version first and it failed - got further with windows version and proton experimental but it still crashed out without starting.

Will second @gamingonlinux 's (implicit) recommendation of Cat Quest. (Skip the sequel. Co-op should have made it better but... Didn't.)

Cat Quest offers a super simple dungeon crawler action RPG with kid friendly content but buried jokes written well enough to keep it engaging at all ages. (And prolly free with Apple whatever+)
