News this week likely on the lighter side due to real-life stuffs. Still be some but lower than usual ๐ŸคŸ

@gamingonlinux And what's next, they're going to attack Flathub for daring to offer Dolphin in flatpak format (managed by the Steam Deck)?

Forcen

@gamingonlinux Some explanation why:

"This is not a takedown notice for emulating (which we all know is legal in the US), this is a DMCA takedown for including the Wii decryption keys (which is actually illegal)."

@gamingonlinux now this has caught my attention. Iโ€™ve been playing LoD and torchlights for years

@gamingonlinux Looks nice. the original Neverwinter Nights had a lot of promise, but the visuals and controls haven't aged as well as the concept. I haven't tried the Enhanced Edition, but it's hopefully an improvement.

The toon shader looks kinda dumb, but that's just me. Otherwise I've been happy to see the support this game has been getting.

@gamingonlinux Ive loved that game for years, it came out with native Linux support all those years ago.

I bought the extended edition last year and replayed all the campaigns. Its the underrated step child of the Baldur's Gate family but I love it

Wow thatโ€™s a bad look. And then you look at the release-day DLC for Gollum andโ€ฆa pack for some emotes? For Gollum ๐Ÿ˜‚ what were they thinking.

@gamingonlinux The funny thing is that a full walkthrough of the entire game, 10 hours worth, was posted to YouTube a few weeks before the game launched because someone out there with access thought the game was so bad that they needed to put the word out ASAP.

Mighty Murder Mittens

@gamingonlinux Tragic. I had this on my wishlist for a while. Guest I won't be buying it.

This is why we don't pre-order shit.

@gamingonlinux at this rate the industry needs another crash
edit: to elaborate, weโ€™ve seen an influx of shoddy releases where the priority seems to be monetization rather than gameplay. this goes doubly for PC ports which are unoptimized dinosaurs that run poorly even on the best hardware money can buy. the rate of piss-poor titles hitting shelves has caused interest in new titles to wane for me

@gamingonlinux Oh boy. It's good.

Oh no. There goes my weekend!

I like it, but it definitely doesn't have the flawless progression curve of Vampire Survivors

Matt Panhans

@gamingonlinux Does anyone know if this works through the Steam flatpak? Vampire Surivors does not work with Steam flatpak but would be cool if this did.

@gamingonlinux Deep Rock took what was fun about Left 4 Dead and made it's own unique thing which is great. I do like Outriders quite a bit but I would call it more of a diablo-like.

@gamingonlinux Nice article, a few thoughts:
I think B4B now has anti-cheat support. Multiplayer with PS5 users works for me.
Could've also mentioned Payday 2, Remnant: From the Ashes and maybe the Zombie Army series. If you lean more into a co-op story there's also the Borderlands series close by.

@gamingonlinux Nice write up! I like the "If You Like" format, keep them coming

@gamingonlinux A small correction: It *is* actually web-based (specifically Vue), but it's not Electron, it's Tauri. Mainly, making it web-based, while it might be disappointing, makes the most sense logistically, since it allows us to reuse code between the website and the launcher. Also, we weren't able to find a Rust GUI lib that satisfied all our needs.

@gamingonlinux fyi, clicking "click here to continue" does nothing if you're not logged in - perhaps it could take you to the login page?
