@gamingonlinux I'll have to give this another shot. The last time I used it to disable the lighting on my video card it wasn't persisting through reboots. Though I'm not sure if that was a bug or if I had it configured wrong.

@bufferapp why does your Chrome plugin sometimes tell me "The provided image does not appear to be valid." even though it's a standard jpg i just made? really frustrating

@gamingonlinux @bufferapp Too large to upload? (I had that with a PNG, and reducing the size to 75% did the trick)

@gamingonlinux i got a clean white one from dbrand, thinking of replacing it with a transparent one with the metal panel for better dissipation

@gamingonlinux I mean sure but all they'll find out is that people are installing proprietary codecs that they removed last month anyway

DELETED

@gamingonlinux so assuming this goes ahead, what's a good alternative to fedora that offers a similar balance of stability and up to date software?

@gamingonlinux Even if Meta releases this under a permissive license I'm still going to be a bit skeptical of it. Meta has a history of making open projects that end up getting tied to their proprietary systems.

I'd be concerned that a few years down the line this library will end up tied to Facebook Gaming or Quest VR stuff.

@gamingonlinux We are so lucky that Lord Zuck has blessed us with the privilege of igl.

This will probably end up tied to a proprietary platform. Meta stuff always backfires..

@gamingonlinux Interesting... I run Overwatch 2 with lutris-GE-Proton8-9 with zero issues. I've never even thought about running it under Steam...

@gamingonlinux > Implemented English speech recognition for Phasmophobia.

Oh wow, I thought that was a loss cause since Phasmaphobia relies on Windows speech recognition, didn't think Proton would bother with it, much less implement it. That's awesome.

@gamingonlinux I really hope they would use 64-bit drivers for NVIDIA card instead of 32-bit which are used at present

The Slight Misgivings

@gamingonlinux River City Girls before I realised it's a decendant of Renegade that subverts the usual 'rescue the girlfriend' plot of beatemups, has a super cool soundtrack and deep gameplay. Plus, it's funny.

@gamingonlinux In 2018, I decided to take a huge gamble and bought a game that was 'Mostly Negative' on Steam. 10 minutes in, I knew I had just won the lottery, and No Man's Sky became my most-played game pretty quick. The updates that have since rehabilitated the game's reputation were all much-appreciated of course, but I was already in love with the game long before that.

@gamingonlinux I expected NFS Hot Pursuit Remastered to be worse than the original one, but it turned out to be one of my faves just like the original one.

@gamingonlinux mine is the same. I must get 200 emails a day offering "guest posts", cheap tat to review, scam sponsorship offers and plenty more. I've even started getting people trying to sell me their various services like video editing by telling me I'm an amateur with wasted potential! Amazing sales technique!

@gamingonlinux Isn't openbox unmaintained for a while now? A bit weird that Valve is giving support to this kind of stuff at this point ๐Ÿค”

@gamingonlinux

Have you heard about this overlay crashing issue?

Been ongoing since the first beta of the new Steam UI

@gamingonlinux I just want them to support hybrid AMD graphics so I can use my mini gaming PC without disabling the iGPU in the BIOS, which itself causes a lot of issues.

Probably a tall order that I in no way understand the workings of.
