@gamingonlinux Thouroughly agree. I picked it up a little while back and played it exclusively on Deck. It ran really well through the campaign and I had much fun.

@gamingonlinux That's great! Titanfall 2 has one of the absolute best single-player campaigns in any FPS ever and it was criminally buried between the release of a mediocre CoD game and an okay Battlefield game.

St. Altair

@gamingonlinux We'll probably never get a game like this again in a long time. Still easily holds up as one of the best fps's I've ever played.

@gamingonlinux

I want to play this game really badly, unfortunately no money.

@gamingonlinux
Nice, I've been having a load of fun with this game. Will be interesting to see how it runs on my rx 6950
This is how PC support should be!

Theyโ€™re not the only site to use the ETA PRIME video to claim it works wellโ€ฆ

But, lol, โ€œrevealing that the lowest FPS he noticed was 16, which is quite impressive.โ€

We have VERY different definitions of impressive ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

@gamingonlinux Should route them to the Hardware Unboxed video where they test it with 4090/DDR5 and found that only 3 cpus older than 2y/o can run the game at 1080p60fps MEDIUM because its THAT CPU intensive.

I really dont have the words for it honestly.

@gamingonlinux this channel is great for emulation showcases but something about his videos puts me off

@gamingonlinux LETS GO!!!!

Doom eternal is my favorite modern shooter. Now that Denuvo is gone, I can finally whole heartily recommended it.

10/10 actual masterpiece

I'll might even might try to DLCs.
I was holding back on buying them because denuvo was such a pain to deal with.

Smash Today

@gamingonlinux
Bethesda is permanently on my shit list for that dunevo bait and switch.

They added it 2 weeks after launch. It's the only game I can remember contacting Steam Support about to get an out of refund window refund.

Peter

@gamingonlinux Cool, now they should remove it from Ghostwire: Tokyo, which got Denuvo added to it a year after it was available without it, for some reason.

@gamingonlinux I think people are finally realizing that Linux gaming can be summarized as Proton/Wine and almost any game can work

@gamingonlinux So nice, how can one say no to an adorable penguin? ๐Ÿง

@gamingonlinux @mikebabcock all Linux has to do to beat Windows is sit still while Windows continues to enshittify itself.

LF ๐Ÿ’ป

@gamingonlinux looks nice! Itโ€™s great that Linux is now supported, Iโ€™ll have a closer look at it soon. Thanks for the info!

@gamingonlinux havenโ€™t seen a screenshot from Jedi Knight in quite some time ๐Ÿฅบ

@gamingonlinux I have 2 PS5 controllers since they work very well under Linux (you can use the track pad) the only flaw to me is that you can't see the battery usage

yeah I copy pasted my comment from the TG group, didn't see this first

Tried a video comparison on the Steam Deck Essentials mod for Starfield, for the third time, now the author mentioned it's fixed. Sadly using the mod will make my Steam Deck crash and reboot while running through New Atlantis city after loading a save or as it's loading a save.

I've given up on it for now, too much time wasted. I've seen some comments from others on the mod page that the mod is still causing it to crash for them too, so I once again am not recommending using the mod.

Liam @ GamingOnLinux ๐Ÿง๐ŸŽฎ

I need to go touch grass for a while after 5 crashes and 2 hours wasted...

Raichu :blobfoxcomputer:

@gamingonlinux I know it's modded but a Bethesda game causing the whole OS even to crash, even though it's running through proton, still does not surprising :blobfox3c:

Peter

@gamingonlinux Cool, now all they need to do is remove the EA Desktop requirement and Denuvo.

Mark :fatpikachu:

@gamingonlinux does the performance hold up in the open world environments as well?

@gamingonlinux I was kind of disappointed in Tiny Tinaโ€™s Wonderlands. I donโ€™t really know what I was expecting but I got quite bored after an hour or two. Maybe someone else feels differently?

Grimpen Mar

@gamingonlinux I just recently played through all the Broken Sword titles with one if my kids. We kind of stalled out on BS5, the one that was Kickstarted. Not because it wasn't good, but because of a change in computers. Should migrate the save files over or restart BS 5 so we're ready for Parsifal's Years.

I know game dev is super complicated, but like...how does Starfield still have characters speak over each other.

Typical Bethseda game really. But, how difficult is it to have:
- Is player directly speaking to NPC?
> Don't have another character or NPC speak!
???

@gamingonlinux

Bethesda game devs literally cannot sacrifice another child without going to jail so don't hold your breath for this to be fixed. Ever. In any Bethesda game. It has been written into their infernal compact.

Mighty Murder Mittens

@gamingonlinux Bethesda games have been the same since Elder Scrolls 4.

Oblivion.
Wasteland Oblivion.
Viking Oblivion.
More Wasteland Oblivion.
Multiplayer Appalachia Oblivion.
Space Oblivion.

Alexander The 1st

@gamingonlinux Part of it involves threading and concurrency as I understand - the check for "Is player directly speaking to NPC?" Passes *before* they decide to play the speaking animation and audio, but...the player character initiates talking with another NPC before the speaking animation and audio kick in.
