@gamingonlinux I'm still "angry" that now I have the Steam Deck classic when the OLED one looks sooooo amazing. Honestly, if I could just "upgrade" at least parts of it... ^^'

@gamingonlinux Nice!

And for anyone who is slightly confused, as I have been: Gold/Silver *Sponsor* is handful-of-digits money, and not to be confused with Gold/Silver *Member*, which is more like 1-2 pizza worth.

@gamingonlinux Please, oh please, let this be the start of game companies contributing to an Open Source game engine, so that there will something absolutely outstanding available for everyone in this space with no strings attached to it!

@gamingonlinux The Year of the Linux Desktop (hand-held) has come! I wonder how a re-release of Steam Machines would fare after the success of the Steam Deck. Would people consider Steam Machines as a viable console alternative, or would they prefer to just buy their own PCs with their favourite OS? They could make them into VR consoles, to combine them with the Index, but would enough people see that as a killer feature?

@gamingonlinux I bet the email content in and of itself was ChatGPT generated 🙄

@gamingonlinux
Wonder what help they can provide for your specific channel other than some generic copywriting.

Went over the masses of comments being sent to me about the Steam Deck OLED, so here's a quick Q&A Part 1.

@gamingonlinux Has rumble improved? Was really weak on LCD model.

@gamingonlinux thanks to the Steam Deck and your work I really got back to connect with my inner gamer. Thank you.

@gamingonlinux I own several consoles (XBox 360, Series X, Playstation 3, 4 Pro, Switch etc.) and I am absolutely enthusiastic about the #SteamDeck !

It's PC-Gaming like it's a console. And better.

I totally love this device ..! :-)

Don’t mind me just sniffing the Steam Deck OLED vent. Gotta get that new tech smell in.

@gamingonlinux Is it any different than the v1 steam deck smell? This may or may not affect my future purchase decision.

slembcke

@gamingonlinux Gentle reminder that those smells are generally volatile compounds that are no bueno. Though I honestly have no idea what the relative risk actually is.

@gamingonlinux To me it seems Valve has taken right lesson from Android phones market. Yes, it is possible to release new model every year, but the only result will be lack of software support. Till now, Steam Deck is receiving great software support. They shouldn't change that.

@gamingonlinux what I‘m interested in: does the fan run less on low TDP settings. For example Yakuza 0 or Alan Wake run at 30 fps and TDP 10/1000 Mhz and the fan is running only in a few scenes. I don‘t habe good suggestions how to benchmark/test case this. But I do hope the better thermal design helps. Reason: in bedroom gaming.
