We now have 11th Gen i7-1165G7 and i7-1185G7 DIY Edition laptops available in Australia! https://frame.work/au/en/products/laptop-diy-11-gen-intel A busy day at our warehouse in Taiwan! A few of the many 13th Gen orders shipping today have a little extra customization. I didn't realize the graphic inside the lid was replaced. I liked the old one. Ah, well. ;) The Framework Laptop 16 has 2560x1600 resolution, a 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, variable refresh rate up to 165Hz, 9ms rise+fall time, 1500:1 contrast, and an unusually high 500 nit brightness. @frameworkcomputer Oof, i think i need to start saving money for that. With all these awesome specs i'm guessing we're closing onto the 2000โฌ mark for the 16 inch ๐ "The simple repair is still a wonder. Dell can talk a big game with its concepts and Apple will send massive repair kits to your home, but Framework includes one tool in the box that lets me confidently make any change I want." - FreedmanAE https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/framework-laptop-13-intel-2023 We launched this quietly, but we now sell returned and refurbished memory and storage (securely erased) for ~50% off with 11th Gen and 12th Gen configurations. We're reducing waste at the same time as reducing the cost of entry to the Framework Laptop ecosystem.

@frameworkcomputer@fosstodon.org This feels both wrong and completely genius at the same time. It feels like an essential part of the framework laptop has been hacked out, but it works just like an external adapter. โ:blobcatsweat:โ You may not be able to get your Cooler Master Mainboard Case just yet...but you can read through the quick start guide as many times as you'd like! We've just published it on our Guides page ahead of opening up orders later this spring. https://guides.frame.work/Guide/Cooler+Master+Mainboard+Case+Quick+Start+Guide/166?lang=en @frameworkcomputer #coolermaster mainboard case, so hot right now. Will we be able to purchase used mainboards via the #frameworkmarketplace ? Daddy needs a new #htpc ๐ @frameworkcomputer This is like telling the kids to read the game manual because the console got stuck up in the Christmas rush and will come a few days late. It's just as exciting, kids! We follow a philosophy of "Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Recycle." Reuse what you can't reduce, repair what you can't reuse, and treat recycling as a final fallback for when you can't make a product last longer: https://frame.work/blog/reduce-reuse-repair-recycle #framework The Framework Community continues to be insanely impressive. Jack LeFevre has a 16-channel logic analyzer Expansion Card in progress: Jack at https://olkb.com/ prepared a mockup of an ortholinear keyboard module for the Framework Laptop 16! Weโre onto Batch 3 pre-orders of the Ryzen 7 Framework Laptop 13 already! Demand is higher than we expected, especially for the Ryzen 7 config, so weโve increased our production plan to pull delivery dates up into late Q3. #framework

@frameworkcomputer I've been waiting for good amd apu laptops FOREVER and I bet I'm not the only one so... @frameworkcomputer I'm not a fan of dedicated GPUs. If you look at a graphics card inside a PC, it has its own CPU, own MoBo, own RAM, own PSU, own cooler. Only an SSD is missing and you would have a 2nd PC working inside your main one. Whereas, an iGPU shares most of those with the main computer, so it doesn't create wasteful duplicate hardware. I will be using only iGPUs from now on and I don't care how many decades will take for the performance disparity between GPU and iGPU to be gone. @frameworkcomputer A lot of you really did want AMD! We've sold out of Batch 1 on Ryzen 7, and onto Batch 2. There are still Ryzen 5's available in Batch 1 though!

That's great to see, but until there's a touchscreen with pen support offered, I will have to use a different laptop. |
