I was like "what did framework do that he didn't like... Or what did they NOT do?" Turns out the answer to those is silence ๐  @frameworkcomputer I find Linus a bit whiney and can't really get through his videos.... any chance of a non-clickbaity summary? ๐

While I would like him to do more Linux content, I don't go to his channels for that, and I don't have to dislike him because he does his thing and doesn't use Linux on desktop. Using Linux is not about judging others that don't. @DiogoConstantino @frameworkcomputer I'm not judging him for not using Linux. I've just moved on to other things and don't usually agree with a lot of his takes. @tkk13909 @frameworkcomputer disagreement is fair and ok, but I don't see how it a lot of if could be related with using Linux he rarely talks about Linux at all. @DiogoConstantino @frameworkcomputer I guess what I'm trying to say is that he does mostly windows content and I don't like watching windows content so I don't like watching LTT. @frameworkcomputer I'm not a fan of dedicated GPUs. If you look at a graphics card inside a PC, it has its own CPU, own MoBo, own RAM, own PSU, own cooler. Only an SSD is missing and you would have a 2nd PC working inside your main one. Whereas, an iGPU shares most of those with the main computer, so it doesn't create wasteful duplicate hardware. I will be using only iGPUs from now on and I don't care how many decades will take for the performance disparity between GPU and iGPU to be gone. @mariubrlu @frameworkcomputer dedicated GPUs are not "wasteful duplicate hardware". Sure GPU compute is becoming more of a thing, but it is not its own computer inside another computer in that you can't flash an OS to it (like Windows) and just do basic computing off of it. I mean that's like saying it's "wasteful duplicate hardware" to those that connect a large display to a laptop since the laptop also has a display of its own. @DonMcCollough @frameworkcomputer You can't deploy an OS on it because is specific to do one task only. But physically has the same hardware as a main computer. Same silicon chip, DDR5 chips, PCB board, voltage regulators, heatsink, fans etc. @frameworkcomputer |
