@forrestbrazeal now I want to see competitive conflict resolution races 😭

@forrestbrazeal Funny enough, back before NFT's became a thing, I thought about how I could make closed-source custom licensed binary themes for my app launcher that work with the theme engine I made if I really wanted to, like one of those bad thoughts you get but decide against. This comic reminded me of that.

@forrestbrazeal Probably because blind people can't see your post. Please consider to at alt text.

I drew this 12 months ago, as LLM code assistants were just becoming available.

Has it held up?

@forrestbrazeal I have avoided LLM technologies wherever possible, for reasons also including the reason in the intersection. I am not expecting positive results that would disprove my objections in this timeframe. (Also do not want to train someone elses model without receiving compensation or giving my consent.) Does anyone accept the challenge?

@forrestbrazeal If you’re talking about it accumulating, you could reasonably put tech debt in the overlap.

@forrestbrazeal oh thought it would be the sense of dread of being a gear in the destruction of humanity.

@forrestbrazeal It's a subplot of en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Deepne where the ancient hacker can break all the new tech because he's such a relic that he still understands the underlying technology it's all built on, which the current generation of techies have completely detached themselves from, operating so many layers of abstraction higher than him that they can't begin to understand how he could have possibly undermined all their fancy gadgets so completely.

@forrestbrazeal
Please don't say words like that out in public. tech journalists, or worse VCs might hear you and get excited, then we're all in trouble.

@forrestbrazeal
Love it. Techies get so caught up with their toys, they don't stop to ask if it is achieving any real-world benefits.

@forrestbrazeal welcome to 2019 - this is a great idea, 2020 - it’s just tricky cos of Covid, 2021 - oh, people actually want to use this, 2022 - MAKE IT WORK, 2023 - what if we use a different cloud service?, 2024 - and repeat……..😫

@forrestbrazeal thanks for reminding me why I don't do anything like backend / full stack anymore 😆
