Proton is taking its privacy-first apps to a nonprofit foundation model Because of Swiss laws, there are no shareholders, and only one mission. Official statement from @Mer__edith: the new EU chat controls proposal for mass scanning is the same old surveillance with new branding. Whether you call it a backdoor, a front door, or “upload moderation” it undermines encryption & creates significant vulnerabilities. @signalapp @Mer__edith Thanks for being strong in your privacy oriented stance. @signalapp @Mer__edith We still have one day to stop this #ChatControl mass surveillance madness, especially if you're from IT, FI, CZ, SE, SV, EST, GR, PT. Act NOW: https://www.patrick-breyer.de/en/council-to-greenlight-chat-control-take-action-now/ I've been obsessively watching through the in person #BloodOnTheClocktower games on the #NoRollsBarred channel, it's so much fun. This is her "you've been at the arcade all day long and my lap time has been too damn low!" face. A few weeks ago this girl complained at length about the lack of tasty food in her life. In an act of desperation I poured a tablespoon of water over her wet food and told her it was gravy. It's now her favorite meal. If she finishes her gravy before the food is gone she waits for more to be added before finishing her meal. #Caturday #OldCatsNewTricks Inspired by this Reddit post: "why do grey catbirds keep putting berries in the bird bath?"! 🍓 https://www.reddit.com/r/birding/comments/1d2wd2j/why_do_grey_catbirds_keep_putting_berries_in_the/ Happy #Caturday from this jerk who screamed at the bedroom door to be let in, was let in, sat by the bed and screamed some more until I opened the curtains, then sat here, not even looking outside. @heatharcadia awe when you're that handsome, you are allowed to be somewhat demanding 🤭🤣🤣🤣😻😻😻 @samhenrigold it’s like the management triangle but you only get to pick one at any given time Boat. @Gargron In nautical terms, this is known as the "Sith Wayfinder", and it works like a map or a compass or a homing beacon or something, I dunno, whatever the plot needs it to do, we literally never see it again, oh, and you plug in some 1/4" patch cables into it for some reason, what IS this franchise anymore anyway? Amazing light work though! Hard to believe that's film and not some ultra-dslr. Where do you even get film negatives developed around here? Get ready: in just about 2 hours, it’s Fastly ‘s first *ever* special event for developers. We’ll be talking about the exciting future of @glitchdotcom, the most-requested features you’ve wanted from @devs, and even some big surprises. Watch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgNjS1_kOW8 Been a long time since I made it up a hill so was wondering what I was doing this time last year. Summit camp up Ben Cruachan, caught a beautiful sunrise. This is such as cool video that explains that Mastodon is not just a Twitter Replacement. Gonna try and show this to people that haven't got into Mastodon before.

@sam @sam But admittedly, it doesn't load as quickly for me 😅 'Nahverkehr' 🎞️ Kodak TriX 400 #BelieveInFillm Apple: “We made rearranging the Home screen super easy! Just put the icons directly where you want them” I just tried to see what Android (Pixel Launcher) does when you move a widget around over icons, and it's somehow much more predictable. In particular, icons would never jump columns if you're dragging a horizontal widget vertically. Apple is announcing its AI product “Apple Intelligence” and gave an example of how you can wish you friend Happy Birthday with an AI generated image of them then they threw this up on the screen why would i do my friend dirty like this on her birthday

@MattBinder I dunno — absurd AI-generated cartoons like this are popular in many forums online! |
@arstechnica This is akin to how FOSS projects if done well have a trust-less system. Analogously, this is Proton ensuring that nothing can and will happen to it in the future as well as they grow to avoid bad actors, takeovers, and other bad things. We don't necessarily have to to trust Proton and it's management or change in leadership because this new system won't allow anything bad to happen to it in any way.
