"It doesn't fucking bang things."

"Anyway sir, the hammer, what seems to be the problem with it?" Manfred von Thun's final message to the concatenatve mailing list, a tribute to Slava Pestov. Do you ever, like, wonder how your house is built and start taking walls off to find out?

@neauoire kind of. I took probes in the kitchen with a drill. Because this house was build in 1600 and a part of it is clay and hay and the other part is cement and steel. Someone suggested that I write a few extra examples to the #Uxn tutorial, so I've added a little dropdown that fills the REPL with various basic programs.

@neauoire Sucks! The gloves, they do nothing. Well, they make you clumsier. That's one thing I miss about wintering in the Med. Sure, it rained sometimes, but when it didn't, you could do stuff and the paint would dry instead of turning mouldy or just freezing instead (that happened - it looked very ugly when it thawed and then dried days later). Plastic pellets contribute 18%, and textiles and personal care products account for 4% combined.

@neauoire A possible way to reduce microplastics from tyres: https://www.euronews.com/green/2023/01/26/student-s-invention-to-stop-microplastic-pollution-wins-dyson-award But better would probably be to use or invent other materials. @neauoire This is alarming indeed. I'd like to point out that this quote requires more context though. The referenced report states this (page 89): > Eleven percent of total plastics [...] comes from the four key sources [...] ... and then continues to break down these four key sources into 78% from tyres, etc. So we're talking about 78% of 11%, which is more like 8.6% of measured microplastics. ... But these numbers are from 2016 and are may be higher by now. @neauoire I was cyberstalking you two for a while but lost you after Mexico during some big life changes for me here in Tokyo. Yesterday a random toot of yours appeared in my timeline, I followed, completed my cyberstalking from Mexico to Japan and now I’m all caught up. I’m glad everything is working out for you guys, and you’re doing what you want, not what you’re told! In Cowboy Bebop, Jet spends all his time doing repairs on the ship.
