halloween is such an anarchist holiday so many other holidays are all about “family.” shut yourself in with people you may or may not like. don’t go out. nothing is open anyway. respect traditional family structures. halloween is about community. go outside. meet your neighbors. share candy with them. nothing is closed. participate in this grand communal ritual with strangers. everyone hide your identity and trust one another.

 @jepyang this is so true! and I wanted to add that for Passover you're supposed to open your door so that strangers may eat with you, but we've never done that in my family…

@jepyang OK, but what happens when mechagodzilla comes in to play? I bet the power of love will pull locuzilla out of the collective.   If the key to your infographic looks like this, you’ve failed #colorblind people. Seriously, if you create or publish any kind of data visualization on a regular basis, please find out who among your friends is colorblind and run stuff by them every once in awhile? Same goes for game devs, tbh. Ok here’s the true test of whether the fedi can replace Reddit. Can anyone help me identify this antique singer sewing machine? I’m pretty good at recognizing all the most common models, but a friend found this in his in-law’s house and it has me stumped. @jepyang OK, on it. I've had my pronouns in my profile and sig file for ages, but never really considered they. I guess it fits just fine, because I'm fairly loosey-goosey with gender, so I'll go add. Solidarity. 🫂
