One thing that's blowing my mind is how many great organizations host Mastodon instances on their main domain. mastodon.mit.edu? social.kernel.org? Very cool!

@evan it's like the Web has been under the spell this whole time, which finally broke, and the Internet is relearning how to be the Internet again. I'm making another batch of apple jack. It's a brandy made from apple wine, distilled by freezing out some of the water and retaining the higher-alcohol remains. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Applejack_%28drink%29?wprov=sfla1 This is an old New Jersey recipe my grandfather told me about. I reconstructed it last year for the first time. I'm looking forward to having another batch! So, I used @pruvisto 's Debirdify to get the Mastodon addresses of everyone I follow on Twitter. Then, I downloaded those addresses as a CSV, which seems to be in a format used for interchanging AP addresses in Mastodon instances. Then, I went to Preferences -> Import and Export -> Import, selected "Import Type" to be "Following list", chose the CSV file I'd downloaded from Debirdify as "Data", selected "Merge", then the "Upload" button. It worked well! ~14% of my Twitter follows imported. I forgot the link! https://pruvisto.org/debirdify/ Thanks @pruvisto for such a nice tool. My name is Evan Prodromou.
