 I've seen that people are complaining about certain instances wanting to block out Facebook/Meta and that we should consider the "normal users" and embrace the possibility of mainstream adoption. We have considered this and decided that certain demographics have decades of experience of being abused and harassed by Mainstream, Normal Users and having a safe haven away from that is more important than allowing Johnnie Randomnumbers to have the ability to debate their existence at them. It's not about gatekeeping or elitism, it's about safety and privacy. Many people don't want a Twitter/Facebook replacement. They want anything but that. |
