Meditated a lot on this picture. Apparently phone means very specific thing to younger generation, like “handheld computer with apps”. And very specific apps, too, because this one has Google Maps and YouTube, and it’s still not a phone

@nikitonsky idk if 1996 counts as younger gen, but the only phones I’ve ever owned were iPhones. To me, phone in this context is shorthand for something like “connectivity” or “the internet”, but in a total way. If you have your phone you can make the real world stop and the digital world begin. That’s what this person is not doing for the summer. The crappy screen on their replacement phone is more important than not having YouTube. Just my read though ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ @nikitonsky this is awesome. I wonder what they would call the thing on the left?! Hand me my ……? We analyze your own handwriting so we can correct your handwriting to look more like “your” handwriting. This industry is beyond parody @nikitonsky Microsoft has had something like this in OneNote on the iPad for at least six years. Only Apple has the temerity to congratulate themselves for releasing something over a half decade after competitors. I dunno who this “Al” guy is, but I’m glad he’s finally being added into iPhones. If only there were a version of the uppercase letter i that didn’t look like a lowercase L… that would make a really useful character alternate these days. Wait so Caves of Qud is sci-fi but NetHack is fantasy? And former takes place on the surface but latter in caves? How does that make sense? What’s next? Any chance there might be a Mac or Switch version, somewhere down the track?) Not very straightforward, but I admire the inventiveness and problem solving inside a limited toolset of CSS I kind of like that this dropdown doesn’t have the usual Ascending/Descending options. Because we actually know the order already. Names are naturally ascending, Last Updated/Stars are naturally descending. Adding an option will just add more unnecessary complexity @nikitonsky о, а где ты данные берешь? Я хотел телеграм бота сделать, который бы раз в неделю присылал премьеры с OV и сразу ссылки на покупку билетов, но нашел только платные апи и забил. Интересно было бы такого бота сделать?

@nikitonsky "starving hysterical naked" is much more succinct than "pants are optional for remote working". @nikitonsky and can't forget the news articles about US politics (and cheese!) in the search menu @nikitonsky Turns out there's a French car brand with just the right name: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DS_Automobiles |
@nikitonsky 1password kinda deserves it though. It’s almost remarkable how much worse (slower, buggier, more expensive) their Mac app is today compared to 5-7 years ago.
@nikitonsky I mean, I used to love 1Password but they really fucked it up so.. 🤷♂️
Never tried the other two though
@nikitonsky Not sure I’m ready to give up Soulver or 1Password just yet! I doubt Apple’s versions will do enough for heavy users?
