I miss simpler times, when window titles were actually titles. There’s a value is standartization. Special cases are not special enough to break it @nikitonsky @nikitonsky Just in case you stay here for some time: we have a Guix meetup on June 1 in local hackerspace. P.S. Guix is a Nix re-implementatiotn in Lisp. We have a CIDER-like IDE and some other fun stuff. Also, let me know if you are looking for some entertaiment/activities, I go to rockclimbing gym from time to time and would be glad to share the joy and teach some basics if needed) "Note that Recall does not perform content moderation. It will not hide information such as passwords or financial account numbers." The computer, however, will stop you from recording DRM'd content. Find it fascinating that when faced with drawing safety and security boundaries, the primary beneficiary is not the owner of the device, or the person using it, but random corporations who control the intellectual property rights. The system doesn't work for you.

@sarahjamielewis The system doesn't work unless you have rich monies. There's not many people in lower and middle 'class' that have that anymore. @nikitonsky read about strings in Symbian ))) https://katastrophos.net/symbian-dev/GUID-21627ABC-AA70-4837-89A1-28BD9B2FD4B0.html @nikitonsky

@nikitonsky Good in spirit, but we’re already drowning in permission prompts. “To boil this pot of water the stove needs to warm it up to 100C.” @nikitonsky so what i’m gonna do with it? send a resignation letter to my boss for bad working conditions? Set up https://application.garden, initialised a fresh example project, deployed it, connected to the deployed nREPL with Conjure and messed with the live state of the deployed application in less than 5 minutes. Very impressed so far! Will try to build a little tool or toy with it to flesh out my thoughts soon. Very promising and exciting though, I LOVE the concept. My dream is for computers to be able to solve simple problems for themselves, instead of forcing me to do their job

@nikitonsky what if the version you specified was a typo though? My dream is for computers to not download huge SDK packages when not explicitly asked to do it :) @nikitonsky Their licensing model is crazy. You pay for each company employee if you use Oracle Java. I love that people were like ‘wahh, I never use all that power in my iPad Pro for anything!' so Apple designers + engineers went 'sick, that means we can render high-poly 3d tools with this new Apple Pencil Pro to cast dynamic shadows at 120fps’ @sdw freakin’ amazing. Must’ve been a passion project for an employee. Making it better for customers! @sdw I love this, but also gotta admit this is extremely low poly in modern computing. Queue Biggie’s Things Done Changed. C++ continues to surprise me. You can define operator ""_km and then write stuff like 12_km People who bought these m4 threaded rods also frequently bought these m3 lock nuts these people were very disappointed

I'm really curious about who those people are.... Because I bought some M4 nuts a couple of months ago... and every recommendation for the next 10 screens (including checkout) from Amazon was for M5 bolts |
@nikitonsky I think that's just so progressive web apps can use bluetooth. Still, I would not trust Chrome to deal responsibly with that feature ...
