@flaki @tezoatlipoca All those original low prices were to kill the competition. It is anticompetitive, predatory, and part of the plan. “Disrupt” is just the code word for that plan. @flaki Then there're people like me... 🔍 Описание Это карандашный рисунок. @nixCraft It was a joke API, but that was secondary to it being a do-nothing syscall, useful for measuring system call overhead. how :neocat: proliferate: (mastodon users probably have to go to original instance to view all images) [cave johnson voice] Oh, in case you got a swapfile on a zstd compressed btrfs partition, here's some advice the lab boys gave me: DO NOT make a swapfile on an zstd compressed btrfs partition. We haven't entirely nailed down what it is yet, but I'll tell you this: it's a lively one, and it does NOT like the desktop environment.

@thememesniper i'm so happy i just made my swap inside an encrypted LVM @thememesniper My google-fu is lacking in this brave new world of AI slop. I'm pretty new to Linux and I do have a swapfile on an encrypted btrfs partition. Seems to be working OK though. Should I be worried? If so, what should I do, please? accessibility includes supporting old hardware, nobody has the same economical status as you to afford a new machine
i need to buy a whole bag of these and then just randomly hand them to any trans person i meet with no context

@eater As a Blind person i never thought i would be on social media savoring photos. But the communal Mastodon alt text game is so strong that sweet, poetic or silly descriptions abound on my timeline. Thanks to legions of people who take time to write a meaningful description of the ephemera they post, i learn so much about insects, plants, buildings, memes — all dispatches from a dimension of the world that i otherwise wouldn't experience. If you're wondering whether anybody reads these things: YES.
