I thought it was brilliant then and still do. @mathi_gwithyas This fits perfectly with the thesis of #Welchering2024, an academic who studies journalism, who discusses in his paper the Fediverse vs #GAMAM that the choice of a platform is a mean of social distinction, media usage is a practice linked to a habitus and an indicator for social status, and the chosen platform is an instance of socialization that reveals which groups are associated with which judgments of taste @mathi_gwithyas Oh I do like these descriptions! No idea. updated my arch. thickie froze exactly at the moment when mime types and kernel images were being regenerated. had to force shut it down, now i have to reinstall everything from under the iso. sometimes i wish lenovo would just step down from the corporate greed ladder and told someone how to fix bug 121 in coreboot. and, after reinstalling basically all of my packages, GNOME decides it will be a good idea to crash all of my extensions whenever i lock the screen. on a laptop. that constantly locks its screen because i put it to sleep whenever i dont use it. you know, because its faster to wake it up than to reboot it because GNOME takes a literal minute to start up with all the same extensions? to think that all of this is caused just because i use a slightly newer cpu in my laptop is... weird opt out is not consent.
