Gnome PC: excuse me, friend cow, but did you see anything weird last night?
Me as GM as the cow: Holy shit! A talking gnome!

I think I’ve heard this one before. It ends with the farmer, flustered, saying to the gnome, “Don’t listen to them sheep; they ain’t nuthin’ but a bunch o’ liars!”
