 It's amazing that Reddit, having watched the fallout after Twitter killed off their third party developers, would go on to say, "You know what, that's an excellent idea and we should do it too!" @bigzaphod This makes me sad. Their last paragraph of asking people not to request a refund. I didn't use it; but I hope people honor their request and not request a refund and instead blame chief elon over there. You can make a QR code for any Mastodon link and it works fine on Twitter. Follow the people you followed on Twitter, sure, but especially follow new people you didn't know on Twitter. Follow people who follow you. Check out the local or federated timelines and pick random people to follow. You can remove them later if you don't like their vibe or once you get a sense for how you want to use Mastodon, but in the meantime it's much more interesting to have a bunch of new posts whenever you come visit. @bigzaphod it’s also a nice opportunity to totally change up the kinda stuff you see. Maybe you’ll color your timeline with #CreativeToots ! Maybe you’ll explore a new world of #microfiction ! Maybe you’ll go really deep on #archeology fedi! So much to explore and expand. It’s a calculated maneuver for sure. Can’t collect user data if they’re using a third party app.
