Was searching art of Xenia and… I should not have looked into reddit comments

Webiste dedicated to her explained history like:

Someone created alternative linux mascot that no one cared aboutSomeone after many many years created art of it thinking it’s a girlIt actually was made a boy originally, so they (art author, her girlfirend and original author) peacefully decided to make it transIt kinda went semi-viral especially on mastodonA lot of artwork

All with sources pointing at web archival websites if needed

Reddit comments are:

random hate on furriesMade up “Linux mascot competetion”some “Trans want to detorvalise linux” bullshitrandom “tux is better”Peacefully talking about thinkpad on artworkmore random hate on furriesPeaceful “why the hate?”

All that without sources anywhere even when asked

Working on a project of “my linux distro” made me realise a lot of stuff about modern linux in general

My current impression as follows:

Something was working pretty simple with command line tool when it was created?????Now it works simple in a nice looking gui that distribution ships, but underneath it is so many abstractions and stuff that you cannot do the same thing with command line anymore (or you can but it does not integrate with gui app at all)
Tired Bunny :bunhdcomfysleep:

I still find using it as personal desktop enjoyable, and using as server can skip fancy gui altogether most lot of times, but in when I try to tweak it for any non-standart desktop use, it is not that well-working at all

It seems I cannot automate (by separate app, not by cookies) login into website that only does login by it’s own javascript powered gui

Well, one feature of my project into the trash bin here we go

I'm starting to see more and more people making comments on linux support on itch io recently

Despite Fedora being the main idea as base for my linux distro I want to make as university project, I see more and more reasons to use Mint instead...

We can appreciate how Arch and Gentoo communities are the creators of the most full-featured linux wikis

Seriously, because of these distros being one of the most configurable ones, you can really just use this wiki as any other distro user and still find useful information on topic you serch for

Decided to try out FireMonkey for combined js script/css style solution. It seems that scripts are working and interface is (subjectively) better than others, didn’t try css styles yet though

One of popular claims on reddit were that it has smallest performance footprint, not sure about that and how to check it properly

It seems that Laika should migrate from absturztaube's akkoma after all...
Tired Bunny :bunhdcomfysleep:

Drawing @laika as pixelated plushie/chibi

You can say she is a sudo fumo here :laughing_cirno:

Pixel art image with black-haired maid with blue eyes, sitting with laptop that has something simmilar to fedora linux logo on it. The text states - "Laika", "Fedora User". License is CC-BY-4.0, author is me, character is Laika

Why cannot pleromaFE properly NOT show muted+blocked users?

I got favorited by some spambot I REALLY didn’t like but now I cannot fully hide it’s notification

I’m restricting my account to manual follower approval for reasons.

I’m still mostly accepting requests from people that have non-empty profiles, but interacting with me before that is preferred

Can we appreciate isekai crazy geniouses for having a proper devlogs/simplified project documentation (not as in "how to use and how it works", but, like, why they did it, what issues does it have etc) for the crazy stuff they usualle leave in abadoned places when they go somewhere or when they are dying?

I can't imagine how it would be harder for heroes to understand stuff without an omnious unfinished diary. Proper documetation would be even better but since they probably don't plan to have anyone but them use it, it was pretty okay in their plans.
