This person could be me actually

I am now wondering how the freak I lived without linux Virtual Desktops feature
Tired Bunny :bunhdcomfysleep:

I fact I learned some time ago - To get most stable linux expirience you don’t need “just avoid nvidia and that and that”, I got older laptop with AMD and it still has issues, ones that I don’t have on pretty new Intel+Nvidia gaming laptop

So, you basically need to either buy specifiacally PC parts tested for linux and models of laptops that are time-tested by linux fans (aka mostly thinkpads), or buy specifically stuff that is made to support linux well, basically FrameWork laptops and simmilar product, or like, Tuxedo.

The problem is, first option is usually used market, at least when it comes to laptops, and is underpowered, and second option is only available to US or Europe users and it will still be VERY costly in comparison to usual laptops and PC’s of the same hardware category and also it’s all out of stock most of the time.

Basically, getting stable linux on the side of hardware compatibility is either luck, using specific old models like older thinkpads, or a privilege

Sad

Made this thing in inkscape

They are called Sukisuki Hakutaku, actually

My own, more simplistic image of a furry round creature, which meant to cutely depict full Hakutaku form of Keine from Touhou Project, with very small and cute paws and ears, somewhat big horns, one of which has a ribbon wrapped on it, and fluffy big tail. Most of creature's fur is green, only belly and tip of the tail are white. Eyes are depicted as black dots and mouth as smug-looking number 3 shaped curve. There is also very small indications of creature blushing.

My plan was to start emoji pack, but it seems I need to simplify it even more and clean up before that will be any good as emoji

Manga (manhua) of the day:

I’m Really Not the Demon God’s Lackey

Status - Ongoing

A completely normal (the eyes are watching you) bookstore where lives a completely normal bookstore owner (the books contain knowledge so forbidden you would go insane) that uses his knowledge on psychology (and eldritch terrors) to help people who came here (you may go insane from books he gives but you will sure receive a nice power-up and a very vague advices)

Kinda getting Max Frey books vibes from it, but with more gore and horror in it + ignorant MC that illustrates that by talking with just enough vague phrases you can look like a smart person (or eldritch god). Not a fan of gore, but story is interesting enough to read all available chapters in one day.

Cover of the manhua depicting guy withblack hair sitting with a demonic book and reading it curously. He wears official clothes and behing him is some sort of a demonic sihlouette.

Fedora failed to show screen lock for some reason... And instead shown comprehensive instructions on manually unlocking session from non gui terminal session in big white text on black screen.

While it would be better if it completely didn't encounter the issue, this is textbook definition of failing gracefully
Tired Bunny :bunhdcomfysleep:

Polonium script seems alright-y already to use instead of Bithmuth on KDE, but no monocle/maximized layout in stable release yet and there is some issues with retiling after untiling

Tired Bunny :bunhdcomfysleep:

It feels like mirrors for Fedora repos are all like “fuck you, we will not update papirus icon pack package” causing a lot of random errors while I’m trying to update it

Tired Bunny :bunhdcomfysleep:

I’m now kinda interested if there is a good documentation of forking linux distros.

I’ve found documentation for building fedora and Nobara live images and have seen that I can basically edit files containing list of packages installed into live system, but IDK if it will even affect what gets installed at all, not even talking about getting custom configs and stuff there

Tired Bunny :bunhdcomfysleep:

Thinking about trying out Nobara because I want to see if I could recommend it instead of Fedora to new users or maybe even use myself for quicker installation without bothering with not included by default stuff

Tired Bunny :bunhdcomfysleep:

Seriously, I would be perfectly fine with Fedora if not for drivers and stuff (and LibreOffice being in danger of turning into flatpak)

Tired Bunny :bunhdcomfysleep:
I think I just have met a person with Fedora linux logo on tshirt while getting out of house...

Me:
Hugo is very easy, and it gives performance miles better than any javascript filled online blog editor!

Anyone else hearing me:
Googling hugo tutorials and getting overcomplicated videos that include BUILDING HUGO THEMES FROM SCRATCH instead and getting very confused on my definition of easy

Hot take:
Touhou Hakutakus as depicted by fandom are cuter than yukkuri

Because of IKEA's going the heck out of Russia there are literal craze over it, both in used market and companies claiming they were producing something for IKEA on their factories before...

And the thing is, nothing from all of that you can buy has IKEA level of quality except for actual used IKEA products, not sure if it is because quality control or because none of manufacturers claims were true.

Lets just agree that fediverse:

- Has a lot of federation-related UX issues and limitations, even if some are basically unsolvable
- Doesn’t have but probably NEEDS proper migration optionally including posts, because not all of people like that they lose posts on migration while servers are coming and going constantly. And at least, losing followers should be minimized and indicated somehow.
- Not an ideal free speech place and not completely anonymous (and I am glad it is not)
- A place where people defederate and block each other if they feel like it. I still think that guilt by association is a bad practice, fediblock lists are unreliable and enforce bad practice above, and contacting other instance before blocking is a nice thing to do as a way of avoiding unrequired blocks due to misunderstanding and unnecessary drama. Other people have their own opinion though

First impressions of BlendOS:

- Freaking Discord as main place of development + almost no documentation to be found elsewhere
- Okay, it kinda works and all of advertised features (except for being easy to “remix”) are there
- It is just immutable Arch + waydroid and distrobox with fancy Electron gui and some additions to make it work slightly better
- Absolutely not “Painless”, installed application icons are not there (maybe bug related to immutablity, it is still beta), everything needs to be set up more manually than it is on a beginner friendly OS, especially if you are setting it on any other language that is not English.
- Still, it seems to hold good middle ground between power user stuff and user friendlyness, I may consider using it myself once it is out of beta with issues fixed, but my initial plans on possible forking it for my distro are not really viable since I’m doing another type of OS in terms of UX

Maybe I should try blendOS beta to then possibly use it as base for my distro (which is still a distro tailored for university and I have not decided if I should go into immutable territory or just stop at my super cool™ idea with tmpfs home directory...)

IDK, it seems a lot easier than to build my own immutable distro, and advertised out of box android app compatibility is a really nice bonus... But knowing linux all of that features cannot possibly work that well in practice, and I can set up something like waydroid myself...
