I didn't update Tachiyomi library for 2 days.

This is what NixOS does to your local bunnys :gyate_reisen_pain:

I feel like NixOS’s complexity and steep learning curve is overestimated

Like, yea, IT IS harder than your usual debibuntu fedora, but I only wasted less than half of a day in a VM just trying out it and referencing third party guides on how to do your usual stuff here, then next day I in slightly more than half of a day already installed it on bare metal and set up same system I had on Fedora on that device, including Wireguard and Syncthing services with configs remade in decralative nix syntax, which was actually optional and I could still use my old backed up ones.

Though, I am a person that:

- Has some experience with linux command line and configs
- Has experience in constantly googling instead of using only official documentation
- Heard tons of info about features NixOS has on paper before, but didn’t learn how to use them
- Has experience in setting up stuff like Arch when you need to install a lot of apps manually
- Has some experience with programming, though I didn’t feel that nix configuration is much about programming, for now it was just a more complex config syntax

I completely don’t want to say it is ideal, “more” ideal than something else, or even “suited for everyone”. It has issues with even just installing python script that was not ported to nix yet, and I am not a person that just came from gui-only, and it’s quirks will be too too much for beginners that didn’t learn “normal” linux. And maybe it has accessibility issues beyond usual linux ones, I didn’t check.

But even with all of that, NixOS is near ideal for me specifically, since I love tinkering with software when it already works out of box (Nix actually has graphical installer, ability install with DE of choice, language choosing, and just working software, unlike something like Alpine), and I’m a programmer and a person who like to build some things from source, but doesn’t like that system is filled with dependencies I didn’t delete.

I have eaten korean street food at korean street food cafe today.

Corndogs are cool, but SO. MUCH. SAUCE.

I hate saucy things that get sauce all over my hands and face, and also this is unfortunately was the worst possible combination of ingredients for me since I for some unknown reasons have tummy ache from either too much cheese sauce thing, or too much sausages - corndog consisted of both so I had ache from just one of it

And also, idk what people see in this korean kpop guys, they look kinda handsome in their own korean way but that's about it

So...

I can freaking add one option in config and Librewolf Plasma integration just works(tm)?

I still cannot express enough how happy I am with NixOS

Time to install NixOS on bare metal :comfy_cirno:
Tired Bunny :bunhdcomfysleep:

My only issues with NixOS as for now are long install time and inability to just launch executable not made for nixos

Tired Bunny :bunhdcomfysleep:

So, NixOS is installed in a WM

I don’t see a promised difficulty yet (after graphical installation instead of minimal I tried and failed last time, and now I am armed with several unofficial guides to reference instead)

If I already started spiralling into insanity, why not do the thing in hopes of getting the thing I need (?)

After trying to understand anything in Documentation related to Fedora linux custom images building I decided to work on Arch-based immutable distro concept for some more time, because all of related things like dm-verity do look more documented than Fedora stuff

Tired Bunny :bunhdcomfysleep:

It seems like there is a proposal for Fedora to change their Live images build system to one that makes among other things easier to make you own custom images (exactly what I am planning to do but currently there is no user friendly tools nor documentation for original tools to make that)

Tired Bunny :bunhdcomfysleep:

Or maybe there are but I didn’t find them yet, as I am in process of reading r*ddit threads and other places with simmilar discussions on topic of building custom images

I should probably try filing an issue for Aurora droid not requesting session when opening app through link without opening it manually before

Of course, if there no already an issue, then I will probably just react on it with emoji

Every time I am reminded of existence of Linux users I for some reason getting very hyped up. Like, yes, we exist outside of linux reddit and fedi communities! It's so cool!

I accidentally started listening to Akatsuki Records song Gotcha Gotcha I wanted to postpone until I buy 100th Black Market game, but now I cannot stop listening and want to buy the game (I nearly forgot about it before)

I think you, in theory, could make bing chat clone with LLaMA and script/application that would search and parse web pages before giving them to LLaMA with a instructions on what to do with this pages

I mean, of course it is possible to make alternative to existing software, but it seems possible to do by one person as small side project

trying out pollonium built from source instead of stable build from kde store

monocle layout is pretty much working and I didn't see any signs of being untested, so I will use it for time being (it feels a lot better than kwin rule for auto maximizing every window)

Actually, wayland, or at least absence of unified protocols for some things made Global Menus not work on non-KDE applications that did support it before, like Inkscape, while using in KDE, since they started using protocol specific to GNOME (and KDE ones use protocol specific for KDE...)

So basically, KWrite is just a simplified Kate without kate plugins support?
