@Radical_EgoCom I have a qualified no. I think food, water, housing, health care, and other necessities for life should be socialized. Elective consumer goods and luxury items could still be sold in a highly regulated open market.

@Radical_EgoCom lovely results but … who are those 6% ?! 🤨

@Radical_EgoCom Capitalism is a society’s answer to five basic questions (See Robert Reich’s book on capitalism.) The questions are valid, but the way we answered them sucks. We need to answer the questions better.

Whenever someone tells me that I'm confused about my sexuality, I tell them, "No, you're confused about my sexuality, and you're trying to project your confusion onto me to make yourself feel better by validating your own confusion".

Saying "God is real, but he exist on a separate plane" is the religious equivalent of saying "I have a girlfriend, but she goes to a different school".

Instead of banning books we should be banning fascism. Fascism is a direct threat to human rights, equality, and freedom. In contrast, books (not all books, but books in general), as a form of knowledge and expression, are not inherently harmful and are essential for education, enlightenment, and the exchange of ideas. Focus on eliminating fascism to create a society based on equality, solidarity, and mutual aid, rather than censoring or eliminating harmless books.

An opossums curled up on its back reading a book titled "Maus" inside of a double circle with the words "trash fascism, not books" in-between the two circles.
Bruce Mirken

@Radical_EgoCom As a smarter person than I put it recently, throughout history, the people banning books are *never* the good guys.

We must combat complacency within oppressive systems. People who passively accept the status quo fail to recognize the constraints and limitations imposed upon them by societal structures. By remaining stagnant and inactive, individuals become oblivious to the ways in which their freedoms and autonomy are restricted and diminished. This is a call to action, urging people to challenge and resist oppressive forces in order to attain true liberation and social justice.

What a great quote. I’d never heard of it before. Very thought provoking.

Cops are a menace to society that reinforce oppressive power dynamics and primarily exist to protect the ruling capitalist class and their stolen wealth, and if you have friends you should encourage them to hate cops as well, otherwise you should get new friends that do.

Four friends standing next to each other. The first friend, starting from your left, has an A on their shirt, the second one has a C, the third one has an A, and the fourth one has a B, spelling the acronym ACAB (All Cops Are Bastards). In large text on the page it reads "All my friends hate cops".

@Radical_EgoCom Sorry, buddy, I got bad feelings too. Anger, hatred. But I don't support it.
When they work at the point of contact with the police as a de-escalator, as a peacemaker, then they need to be wise and careful. Not under the tow of hate. Hate and wisdom cannot be together.

@Radical_EgoCom needs a bit of qualification, I think. Our local cops are good people.

We can not allow safe spaces for fascist. Allowing fascist safe spaces endorses their ideology and threatens our vision of a fair and equal society. It puts marginalized groups in danger. It normalizes fascism and erodes principles of equality and freedom. Denying safe spaces to fascists is a form of self-defense for us and vulnerable groups. We must unite collectively to resist oppressive systems, foster a united front against oppressive structures, and promote solidarity among diverse groups.
