Hi #Inkscape-fans! I finally found a way to do object-#shadows! Ctrl-D to duplicate the object, make the color a bit darker. N and select the nodes where the endpoints of your shadow should be. Shift-B to „Break path at selected nodes“ (🤔) Ctrl-Shift-K to „Break apart“ (🤷♀️) S and Del to select and delete the part that isn't gonna be shadow. N to go back to node view, B to draw the inner edge of the shadow. It's more cumbersome than what I was doing in #AdobeIllustrator but it works!

You can also achieve this by duplicating the layer CTRL + D Darkening that copy Then creating another object that cuts away the portion you don't want Then selecting both and using the Path, Difference operation CTRL + - Which will leave only the shaded part. Just another option:)

You may also like the shape builder in 1.3 too. Which comes out next week in it's stable form. But let me know what the workflow was in Illustrator. Always interested to know alts in case it's possible to program Inkscape with them.

Wow. I tried to #center #images on my #Wordpress #blog with #CSS for ages. Could never do it „align-center“ from back in the day didn't work, looked online, never found anything. Now, while doing something else it seems like: display: block; does the trick! No idea why, obviously, as always +__+

@jfml It's because of the difference between elements that use the `block` and `inline` boxes. https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/display `text-align: center;` means it centres the content of elements with an inline type - the text *inside* the p, for example. Not the p itself. When you want to centre "an HTML element" you likely want to centre *the element* and not *its content*. Which means it needs to be block level, and then you can use margins.

What *really* messes me up is whatever #Krita is doing when you open or save documents. It's just super weird. E.g. I think (as apposed to 99% of all other programs) when you save an existing file they don't show you the directory where you opened the file from but where you saved your last file? At least I think that's what it is. Whatever they do it means that files end up being saved to random locations (because I'm not paying attention) and I have no idea where they are. 😭

Krita's doing it again! Opened a file from Desktop. Worked on it, saved it. Opened another file from somewhere else, worked on it, hit Save As … Krita opens the file browser at the desktop not where I opened the second file +___+
