We love freedom 0, the freedom to run the program as you wish, for any purpose. Boost this post to share the message with others! And, if you are able, please participate in our biannual appeal for #UserFreedom via: u.fsf.org/3m4

@fsf I’ve been involved with computers/programming since the early 80s. Some of the BEST software comes from folks who are not only passionate about their work, they share it with others out of pride and desire for input/contribution from others to improve the product. Should you be paid for your work? Sure. That is, if the money is that important to you. Otherwise, fostering goodwill goes a long way toward developing trust, community and a solid customer base for paid software.

@fsf
I don't want Software freedom rights for the (western) military, the sharpest enemy of any peaceful world order. This is not about freedom, it's naive.
Freedom in capitalism always is the freedom of the capitalist to exploit workers. Let us just don't support the oppressors please.

You should always flock to federated social media, but you should do it especially on July 8 at 16:00 EDT, when we'll be hosting a Q&A session over Mastodon! u.fsf.org/3mb #UserFreedom

Shifty Skip

@fsf Are you aware that there are lots of instances in this network that are *not* Mastodon? The full network is called the Fediverse, and these instances can communicate with yours just as well. So I don't think it makes sense to call this "Mastodon hour".

@fsf Without the rights to repair, disassemble, and reverse engineer, society is nothing but a cargo cult.
