Very excited to be implementing rich widgets to display other types of #ActivityPub objects in Bonfire. Here are a few examples showing activities federated from @peertube @pixelfed and @mobilizon.

At present, #bonfire discussion page lacks any statistical data about the thread, a feature that is pretty common in most of social networks or forums. These platforms typically display a total count of replies, boosts, likes, and participants .... Full discussion on the campground βΆοΈ 1/3

Take Discourse as an example, a platform with a great UX for productive conversations. Discourse displays the list of links shared in a post and provides a statistical box that details thread engagement. This includes also an approximation of the time required to read through the entire thread, if significant. 2/3

@bonfire Wow! Y'all keep pushing the boundaries of federation and are an inspiration to me and others. Don't get me started on your ridiculously beautiful website and UI, nevermind your brilliant strategy of low key becoming the perfect platform with your extensive plugin/extensions architecture. Kudos, like really, you're the complete package and I hope the fediverse gives you the attention you deserve! π

New blog post on the upcoming #bonfire beta release: https://bonfirenetworks.org/posts/beta_what_to_expect/ "In a few days' time we'd like to invite you to experiment with a 'playground' instance of Bonfire, the federated social networking toolkit for communities. Lots of what you'll see in the Bonfire beta will be recognisable from other social and/or federated apps. There is some functionality that may be a little different with Bonfire as well."

Check out our new blogpost "We're now days away from the beta release of Bonfire, a federated app toolkit. When beta users get their hands on it, however, they might be confused: wait, this looks like just another microblogging app! haven't we already got enough of those?" https://bonfirenetworks.org/posts/not_just_yet_another_microblog/

π£ We're happy to share w/ the fediverse our new website: We tried hard to communicate the vision and the motivations that nurture bonfire ecosystem. We also included new technical guides to setup and configure a new instance, to play with it or contribute to the development. 1/2

Oh, I almost believed you. Then I found out your source code is on GitHub. Sorry, but if you are serious about your mission of openness, you are on Codeberg or Sourcehut.
@bonfire @brembs @UlrikeHahn @jorge @open_science very interested to see where this goes. Pushes all my (good) buttons.
