Despite the clear warning that it's not reversible, people still ask.
Recycling usernames is something @pixelfed is investigating!

 That's why you never delete accounts immediately. You deactivate them and only actually delete after e.g. 30 days. dansup, of course you would still have immediate deletion as an administrative option you'd use when someone asks you. The idea is to make it hard but not impossible. Putting up such a barrier will immensely help to lower the incidence of people deleting their accounts and changing their mind shortly after.   |
