@thisismissem Yeah its not uncommon for the temps to dip below -40 in winter here.

I didn't even put up christmas lights this year due to the lack of snow and above average temps, it didn't feel like winter and now I hope we get like 3 feet of snow.

Living this far north makes you appreciate and respect the cold in so many ways

@dansup I'm guessing you're a lot further north than I am!

@thisismissem It's pretty far up north compared to most of Canada but is comparable to northern EU and Russia!

Wow, what a temperatures! Europa benefits from the Gulf Stream making things more temperate on average.

That page also made me go on a quick comparison re:population. Netherlands has about half the population of Canada, but is 240 times smaller as a country.

@smallcircles @thisismissem I don’t mind the cold and snow, plenty of memories building igloos and having snowball fights.

We have quite an extreme temp gradient here, with polar vortexes and heat domes you have to be ready for plus 40 temps or minus 40 temps.

Tbh though, I wouldn’t have it any other way, it makes you respect Mother Nature even more!

Same here. Though we have warmer winters now than they used to be (climate change). Esp. the change of seasons makes you appreciate them. Tired of dark and cold? Spring is around the corner!
